Privacy Policy

Villa Lidia is a holiday home at Strada Monte Pausillo 55/B, 06060 Paciano, Italy, rented out by its owner Marleen. For anything about your personal data, write to marleen@villalidiaumbria.com.

When you send a request through the Request a Stay page, we receive your first and last name, email address, phone number, arrival and departure dates, number of guests and your message. We use these details to answer you, check availability, send you a quote and, if you book, to prepare your stay.

The legal basis is the steps needed before a contract, at your request. Without these details we cannot answer a request.

The form sends your request to us by email through Amazon Web Services in the European Union (Stockholm region) and stores it in our booking administration, which runs on the same platform. The email then arrives in our regular mailbox. When you open the Request a Stay page, the availability calendar is fetched from that same booking administration, so the request carries your IP address before you type anything.

We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that process it on our behalf, and with authorities when the law requires it, such as the guest registration every holiday rental in Italy must submit.

We keep a request for as long as we need to handle it. Booking records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires.

This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Two things load from other providers:

• The map on the Request a Stay page comes from Google Maps. Google may set its own cookies and receives your IP address when the map loads.
• The weather widget on the home page asks Open-Meteo for the local forecast. Open-Meteo receives your IP address for that request and nothing else.

The site is served through Amazon CloudFront, which may record standard access logs (IP address, requested page, time). We keep those for security and abuse detection only, on the basis of our legitimate interest, and for no longer than the hosting provider's standard retention.

You can ask us to show, correct or delete the data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, or to hand it over in a portable format. Send your request to marleen@villalidiaumbria.com. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority in your own country.

We update this page when the way we handle data changes. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
